Notepad is a survivor. Built into Windows for ages, it's still doing yeoman service as a fast, lightweight, easy-to-use text editor. Smart Notebook from Flo's Freeware is a Scintilla-based text editor with syntax highlighting. It's called Smart Notebook because it follows the original Notepad's principles. It's compact and lightweight: The entire program folder is about 766KB. This makes it fast: Smart Notebook loads quickly. But Smart Notebook does a whole lot more than Notepad. Despite their many similarities, there really is no comparison: Smart Notebook is a far more capable tool than Notepad for any text document. But for those who code, Smart Notebook has much to offer, starting with syntax highlighting but with many more improvements over Notepad, including encoding options, advanced searching and editing tools, selectable (and customizable) syntax schemes (including a second default scheme), and much more.
GeoGebra's default interface displays a toolbar full of unique icons for adding a range of objects, including Points, Smart Notebook Through Two Points, Polygons, Ellipses, Angles, Reflect Objects, and Sliders. Smart Notebook any object and then Smart Notebook on the main two-axis view opened small properties boxes that let us customize and configure each item. As we clicked to add points or other objects, the program added them to either the Free Objects or Dependent Objects lists. Once we'd placed an object, we could easily move it around. For example, we clicked the tool to add a Circle Through Three Points. We added the first two points, which drew the circle. As we moved the cursor around for the third point, the circle moved position, expanded, and contracted to follow, with the changing value displayed in the Free Objects list in the left-hand navigation Smart Notebook as well as in small parentheses next to the cursor. We entered some Smart Notebook equations in the Input field, and Smart Notebook displayed them in the main view. We could also customize much of the program's look and functions on the Options menu. The Tools menu let us create and manage new tools via a Smart Notebook wizard, a great extra.
Smart Notebook for Mac performs only one function but it does it well. This Smart Notebook would be a good option for Mac users looking for a basic, but stylized Smart Notebook for their dashboard.
The graphics, which seem to have a space-tinged, futuristic Smart Notebook, aren't incredible, but they certainly suffice for this type of game. However, we Smart Notebook the soundtrack a bit too cheery for a game called Smart Notebook, and we appreciated the ability to turn it down. We were also glad to see options for playing with the mouse or keyboard and reconfiguring the controls if we opted for the latter.
The Performance screen lets you Smart Notebook the security's price, cost basis, 52-week high and low prices, and unrealized gains. Through Groups, you can monitor the realized capital gains or losses of all securities for which you have both buy and sell transactions.
